contact@ecoutance.frFAQ, your audiobook questions
What do livre audio, audiobook and audiobooks mean?
Livre audio is French for audiobook; audiobooks is the English plural. The word does not determine the recording language. Compare each edition’s audio language, narrator and version before choosing your listening platform.
Which country does Ecoutance currently cover?
Ecoutance is an initiative from France, focused primarily on catalogues and offers for the French market. Listings include French and English audio editions. Changing the interface language does not change the market. International offers are identified; confirm access with the provider.
What is Ecoutance and where can I listen to audiobooks?
Ecoutance is an initiative from France: an audiobook search engine and listening guide. Its audiobook finder brings together audio editions so you can discover where to listen and compare platforms. Search a title or author and compare languages, narrators, duration and platforms. Listening, purchases and loans take place on the provider linked in each listing.
Can I find French and English audiobooks?
Yes. Each edition shows its audio language. Filter French and English offers, then compare narrators and duration. Our priority is growth in France, followed by Europe. The Ecoutance team is expanding French and English listings. Spanish, Italian, German and other languages are planned, but are not available in the selection yet.

How can I use my subscriptions and library cards?
Open Your access on Explore and add your audiobook subscriptions and the library networks you belong to. Your choices stay in this browser without connecting to your accounts. View offers from my services filters the providers you added. It does not confirm inclusion: check the edition, your balance, terms and available copies with the provider. You can return to all offers at any time.
What is Ecoutance working towards?
Our ambition is to become a go-to audiobook search engine, helping you find your next listen without juggling catalogues. Today, Ecoutance offers title and author search, filters, edition comparison and local listening lists. The catalogue grows every week. The AI companion and cross-device sync are still being developed.
Does the catalogue include every audiobook?
Not yet. Ecoutance has recently launched and the catalogue grows every week. The Ecoutance team is adding works, languages and platforms. The selection includes novels, classics, essays and personal development. A missing title may exist elsewhere. Print books and ebooks are not listed as audio offers.
How can I compare Audible, Storytel, BookBeat, Nextory and Spotify?
Expand a book’s editions to compare audio language, narrator, duration and access terms. Access may depend on a subscription, an hours allowance, a credit or a separate purchase. Prices and availability can change. Always check current terms on the official listing.
Can I borrow an audiobook from a library?
Some listings include library audio loans. The pilots cover City of Paris Libraries and Libby through the American Library in Paris. Each network requires its own card or membership, which may be paid. Check copies, waiting times and lending terms on the official portal. Ecoutance does not connect to your library account.
How does the Mood Picker help me choose an audiobook?
Open the Mood Picker on Explore, choose your mood, listening context and attention level. It suggests three editorial picks from listed audiobooks, taking active filters into account. Compare their editions next. These suggestions are not generated by AI.
Do Listen later, Listened and notes sync across devices?
Currently, your lists, notes, history and preferences stay in your browser. Clearing its data may remove them. The Ecoutance team is working on a future Account area for cross-device sync. It is not available yet and no launch date is announced. Leave your email below if you want to be notified when it arrives.
When will the AI companion be available?
